History of the Club: Founded in 1949 in Gopibagh area in Dhaka, Brothers Union was initially more involved in cultural activities. Later, they established themselves as a sporting club. Many famous footballers have been produced from the club which played a leading role in the development of the country's football. Brothers' progress as a football club in 1973 by winning the third division football championship. The team won the second division title the following year. In 1975 the Brothers, newcomers to the first division football, created a surprise by defeating the then champions Abahani Krira Chakra in their first match. Despite being a major force in the Football League, they had to wait until the 2003–2004 season to win the league title. But before that they were runners up in 1978. At one time, the club was considered the third power of football in Dhaka. However, they were relegated from the top league the season before last. However, after winning the last Bangladesh Championship League title, they returned to the Premier League in the 2023-2024 seasons.
