History of the club: Chittagong Abahani has been playing a leading role in the sports field of Chittagong since its establishment. The club has been playing regularly in the Bangladesh Premier League as a team outside Dhaka since its debut in the country's professional football. In 2013, they returned to the Premier League by winning the Bangladesh Championship League. Since then they have not been relegated. In 2017-18 they were runners-up in the Premier League. Besides, in 2016, they won the Independence Cup.
