History of Club: Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's eldest son Shaheed Sheikh Kamal was the founder of the then Abahani Krira Chakra. The club, which played a strong role in the construction of modern sports grounds from the beginning, was later transformed into Abahani Limited in the nineties of the last century. In the eighties and nineties, the club gained immense popularity due to its regular success on the football field. Before entering the professional era, Abahani won the Dhaka League title 11 times and became the most successful team in the professional era, winning six Premier League titles till date.
International Success: Only Bangladeshi team to reach AFC Cup Inter Zonal Play-off Semi-finals in 2019. Won many international trophies including Sait Nagjee Trophy, Chams Cup, Bordoloi Trophy.
